I go to Jean’s Kitchen all the time, great food! This article is great, it really shows how diverse the businesses are on the Danforth is east of Jones.

does anyone know anything about “Taps and Tales”? they’re opening up east of linsmore and it looks pretty cool…no domestic beers, only gourmet…anyway moved to the area in 2007 and love it!! but we need more than just sarah’s and 10 feet and jean’s….ps apparently the money mart building has been transferred to the city of toronto so i wonder what’s gonna happen there.
I think that having legal space for artist to express and promote there art is a great idea and long awaited. How can I a small business owner in the Danforth Mosaic BIA district get involved?

I like this charming place. It also has a little patio in the backyard with a middle eastern mural and a real tree. Abby the owner/chef makes a delicious Tunisian couscous. Try the calamari!

Hi Mozmatt,
Can you please tell me the address of the money mart building that you are referring to. (There are a few money marts on the Danforth.)
Thanks,
John

I love many things about this store, and especially their policy on buying small batches…who needs stale pet food? Brilliantly located next to Seb’s cappuccino too.

I love Wag on the Danforth for many reasons. Firstly it is a first class pet shop with great natural products which are hard to find; secondly, the service is amazing, dished out by Ruth and then the welcome wagon by her four-legged assistant Sam. We took our dog, Kishi for a bath and the job was easily done in their nice large tub. The natural shampoo was what our little one needed and at the end, lovely plush towels were provided. So if you are looking for great and knowledgeable service with a large smile, check out Wag on the Danforth!

WAG is great. They’ve ordered in specific product for me and they’re diligent in keeping me informed about availability of the products I buy and the products I might be interested in.
Ruth and Rob are friendly and helpful and a pleasure to chat with. They also have great taste in the art that they feature on the store walls. Thanks for everything WAG!

First of all, thanks for all the hard work you are doing. It’s great to start seeing the early buds of improvement (Mosaic Signs, New Businesses, etc) and I have very high hopes for the area.
I just wanted to ask what you know about how much longer until the Esso station at Greenwood and Danforth will be complete. I’ve seen the early signs (fences up, bits knocked down) but not much since. I think it will do a lot to brighten up the intersection, especially if they stick to the plan and keep the original Roxy Theatre front as part of the building.
Any information you could give we would be appreciated. Thanks again for all your hard work.

Thank you for the list, always handy.
I sent a previous email to The Danforth Mosiac but did not receive a reply.
I was wondering what the BIA will be doing about the 20 minute Makeover and Park clean up in April. Will you have information on your site? Will you be emailing the businesses about this project?
I was also wondering if the area between Jones and Greenwood would get plants in the tree wells. They seem to end at Jones and restart at Coxwell.
We are trying to get the ECC involved with the 20 minute makeover, perhaps you have a contact at the 7 Eleven who might be interested in helping.
Thank You.

This is a great idea. Just a suggestion – please provide address and intersection of the featured business. I am new to the area but am not aware of this place. I will look for it now though.

Hi Marc,
We do plan on working in our community for the clean up day in April but have not yet finalized which area we will be able to tackle. As you know we have a very large BIA and sure could use a lot of help and suggestions.
Please email the office again as I did not see your email come in.
Yes, flowers will be planted in all of the planter boxes as soon as spring is really here! The entire BIA from Jones to Westlake will have flowers in all of the planter boxes.
Thank you for your comment.

I was wondering if the Mosaic Does Jazz scheduled events are still taking place during the City Workers’ Strike. I didn’t hear any music wafting over from the park… I don’t live too far away… yesterday (Canada Day) and was curious as to whether this is still a go or not.
Thanks,

Thanks for all the organizational and creative efforts to invigorate this part of the east end.. My husband, pre-schooler and new baby have enjoyed summer evening picnicking while listening to the concerts. What a treat! And it’s caused us to notice some of the businesses along the Danforth that we had never noticed before.

Kyrie, a very sweet black feline; and my Egyptian carnivorous, scorpion, serpent and rodentia devouring protector, totally loves the treats we found there and they have the baked dry food I buy so please support this great business! On my first visit, Heidi who is there Mondays was very friendly and discovered something Kyrie loves. She also agreed I should find out if she is pregnant. (Kyrie, not Heidi ; ) I met Ruth a few days ago and she is very helpful and even called a supplier for information about a product for me. The products there are the best I have seen, prices are great and I can even afford to shop there plus I found answers about raw food I was seeking. I love that they are across from the park because Kyrie loves to go there. Meeeoow! – says the pussycat, Meeeoow!.
Our seminars are meant for our members which are current commercial property and small business owners in our catchment area (Danforth between Westlake and Jones). I suggest that you contact our office if you are interested in attending a particular seminar and we can check the availability for you.
Thank you for your interest and best of luck in opening up a business in our neighbourhood!
